Kennard T. Wing is a senior consultant and researcher with 30 years of experience. For the last 10 years he has worked exclusively in the nonprofit sector, focusing on consulting for improved operational effectiveness and applied research. He was a senior researcher on the Nonprofit Overhead Cost Project and has won an Excel Award from the Society of National Association Publications. Mr. Wing has taught management at the graduate level at the University of Pennsylvania and Immaculata College. He holds a master’s degree from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and is a certified management accountant.

Thomas H. Pollak is program director of the National Center for Charitable Statistics, a program of the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute. His recent research projects include a study of overhead costs in the nonprofit sector and an analysis of private contributions to U.S.-based international development organizations. In addition to these and other research projects, Mr. Pollak manages NCCS’s web site, data development, and online data services. He holds a law degree from Georgetown University and is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars.

Amy Blackwood is a consultant with the Urban Institute’s National Center for Charitable Statistics, working on a variety of nonprofit research projects. Prior to that, she was a research associate at NCCS and also worked as a policy analyst at the Corporation for National and Community Service. Amy’s work with NCCS has focused on examining public charities in the health and education subsectors. She holds a master’s degree in public service and administration from Texas A&M University.
