As an active stakeholder in the realm of international development, the Urban Institute Center on International Development and Governance (IDG) truly has a global presence. Various internet-based tools help facilitate the Center’s international activities, including online web-based email; internet-based video-conferencing; and web-based administrative tools.

An important part in IDG’s approach to strategic knowledge management is the use of Sharepoint for project management and collaboration. SharePoint provides IDG staff, as well as selected partners and clients with online access to relevant documents and shared project materials.
