JGTRRA. The Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 accelerated the full tax-rate reductions scheduled under EGTRRA, reduced the taxation of capital gains and dividends, accelerated increases in the child credit amount, and temporarily raised the exemption for the alternative minimum tax (AMT). Most provisions expire at the end of 2010.
Job Training Partnership Act of 1982 (JTPA). The federal law that authorized and funded job-training programs to help economically disadvantaged adults, youth, dislocated workers, and others with barriers to employment increase their earnings and employment. Replaced by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
