Urban Institute/National Congress of American Indians Summer Research Fellowship
For the summer 2009 program, the Urban Institute Summer Academy is strengthening its collaboration with the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) by designating one of the summer fellowship slots as a joint UI/NCAI summer fellowship. NCAI leadership, along with the UI Summer Academy’s Program Director, will serve as the selection committee for this fellow. In addition to all of the benefits of the UI Summer Academy fellowship, NCAI will sponsor this fellow to attend their national Tribal Leader/Scholar Forum – a component of NCAI’s Mid-Year Conference – in early June (Niagara Falls, NY). NCAI researchers will additionally serve on this summer fellow’s guided research mentor team. Upon successful completion of the UI Summer Academy, the NCAI fellow will be provided with career placement assistance to identify a position with a local, regional, or national Native organization when he/she graduates from college the following spring if desired.
